J. Elaine Amspaugh
J. "Elaine" Amspaugh, age 84, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1940, to the late Harold and Genevieve (Baldwin) Ethell.
After her marriage to her husband, Robert "Butch" Amspaugh, the couple together raised three sons. Elaine was a career homemaker, farmers wife caring for the needs of her family. She loved doing crafts and Elaine was a 10 year 4-H adviser with the Boots and Saddles 4-H Club showing horses with the boys. Elaine also toured the nation right behind Butch on their Gold Wing motorcycle. Elaine was an active member of Annie Oakley Wings, a chapter of the Gold Wing Road Riders. Elaine also loved Christmas. Shopping for her began in June and there was no budget to limit her desire to bring Christmas joy with her family. We will always have great memories of Christmas mornings unwrapping presents and having all the family at her house on Christmas day.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert "Butch" Amspaugh; her sons, Greg (Shirley) Amspaugh, Doug (Kim) Amspaugh, and Scott (Teresa) Amspaugh; her grandchildren, Rachel (Adam), Michael (Brianna,) Kellen, Sarah (Tyler), Zach (Alicia), Alexandra (Stephen), and Emelia; 8 great grandchildren, and one on the way; her brother, Ted Ethell, and nephew, Chris Ethell.
A viewing will be held at Reverent Church, 111 Devor Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331 on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, at the church, with Pastors Jeff Harper and Mark May officiating.
Burial will be at Greenville Township Memorial Garden. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Friday between 9:00-11:00 AM.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Reverent Church or to Everhart Hospice, in Elaine's honor.
