Helen Black
Helen M. Black, age 90, of Celina, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born August 17, 1927, in Darke County, to Charles & Edith Slick Price. Helen married William R. "Bill" Black Sr. on March 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2001.
She is survived by their 5 Children: William R. Jr. (Cheryl) Black of Celina, Robert (Linda) Black of St. Marys, and Herbert (Karen) Black, Charles (Kris) Black, and Star (Douglas) Zizelman of Celina, 10 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 16 Great Great Grandchildren, and Sisters-in-law: Maxine (Melvin) Lavy and Nila (Ben) York, of Greenville.
The youngest of 6 Children, Helen was preceded in death by all of her Brothers & Sisters: Clayton Price, Tony Price, Mary Staugler, Martha Singer and Barbara Howe, and a grandchild, Love Zizelman.
Helen and her husband, Bill, had been the owner/operators of Windy Point Marina in Montezuma, and Helen had also retired from Huffy Bicycles. She was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
Helen truly enjoyed working, fishing, and sitting on her front porch. She looked forward to going out for breakfast at Pullman Bay Restaurant with her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 29, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Dale Mangen officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are from 2-4:00 & 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, and 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
