LeRoy Nagel
LeRoy L. Nagel, 92, St. Marys, OH died 7:45 a.m. Wednesday January 27, 2016 at his residence.
He was born August 15, 1923 in St. Marys, OH to LeRoy and Clara (Pfeiffer) Nagel. He was first married to Joan Van Cleve, who preceded him in death. He then married Mary Lou Martin, who died December 1, 2011.
Survivors include: son David Nagel of Bowling Green, OH; son Kim (Kay) Nagel of Union City, TN; son Kevin (Jodi) Nagel of St. Marys, OH; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Leroy and Clara Nagel; infant daughter Elizabeth Ann Nagel; son John "Noodle" Nagel; sister Dolores Horn; sister Onolee Chamberlain; sister Mary Ellen Mc Intire.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1943). He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. Mr. Nagel was a retired developmental production employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post # 323 and Eagles Lodge Aerie # 767, all in St. Marys. His favorite pastimes included bowling, golfing, and playing cards with his buddies.
Le Roy was a devoted member of the local Eagles Lodge. His tireless efforts to support and improve their lodge led them to dedicate "LeRoy Nagel Hall" in his honor.
Rites are scheduled to begin 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 30, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church 210 N. Wayne Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Maki, officiating. Burial, with full graveside military funeral honors, will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.
Visitation 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys.
