John D. Rable, age 93, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday January 9, 2026 at the JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born July 13, 1932 in Celina, OH to Victor (Bob) and Matilda (Diell) Rable.

John is survived by his nephew, Tom (Kristi) Rable of Celina, OH, and his niece, Mary (Ted) Loose of Springboro, OH, as well as eleven great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas J. Rable.

John was a resident of St. Marys and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church his entire life. He graduated from St Marys Memorial High School in 1950 and later graduated from Northwestern Business College in Lima, OH.

He retired from the Minster Machine Co. after 40 years of service, having worked in the business office.

Following his retirement, he volunteered at AGAPE Ministries in St. Marys.

A longtime member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie #767, he enjoyed eating meals and visiting with fellow members. In his free time, John was an avid sports fan who found enjoyment in watching almost any sporting event, but especially loved NASCAR and football. He rooted hard for the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. A diehard St. Marys Roughrider fan, he volunteered his time to stripe the field for home football games. He also enjoyed traveling to casinos with his friends on bus excursions.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. On Saturday January 17, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 511 E. Spring Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Prashanth Bandandadham, celebrant and Deacon Martin Brown, homilist.

Burial will follow at the Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
