Martha Heitkamp
Martha A. Heitkamp age 86 of Sidney, formerly of Maria Stein, Ohio, passed away at 6:18 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at her son's home in Sidney.
She was born on March 26, 1938 in St. Patrick, Ohio to the late Julius & Helen (Poeppelman) Koverman. She married Thomas Heitkamp on November 23, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2013.
She is survived by children: Dan & Barb Heitkamp, Maria Stein, Sandy & Mike Stein, Fort Recovery Jackie & Randy Winner, Osgood, Jay & Diana Heitkamp, Sidney, Lisa Barnabei, Pickerington, LeeAnn & Chuck Schwieterman, Montezuma, Jill & Ted Nagel, Maria Stein, 23 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren, siblings: Sister Jean Rene Hoying, C.PP.S., Dayton, Diane Gels, Columbus, David & Helen Hoying, St. Patrick, Tom & Rosie Koverman, St. Marys, Rita & Denny Sollman Sidney, in-law James Heitbrink, Minster.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Peter, siblings, Lois & Bill Drees, Mary Jean Heitbrink, Monica & Ken Boerger, in-laws Bill Gels, Adela & Carl Golden, Ivo & Wilma Heitkamp, Marie & Louis Will, Linus & Patricia Heitkamp, Elsie & Jack Conner, Delores & Bill Munch, Frank & Joyce Heitkamp.
Marty was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the Rosary Altar Sodality and the Church Choir. She assisted in the family business for many years. She loved family vacations, card parties and following her grandchildren's activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Friday, January 3, 2025 4 to 7 PM and Saturday, January 4 from 9 to 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion Township Park.
