* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Edna Stauffer-Thornton
Edna Fern (Neeper) Stauffer-Thornton, age 97 of Tomball, Texas, was called home on December 26, 2024 to be with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully in her sleep at her residence.
Born May 15, 1927 to Fred and Elizabeth (Clark) Neeper on a Dairy Farm with no electricity or plumbing in Kemp/Lima.
Edna graduated from Lima Shawnee High School in 1945, where she played Clarinet in the Marching Band and Softball. She loved watching all Sports. She sang, played piano and organ at her church. (Kemp Evangelical United Brethren Church) She also loved landscaping her home in Prescott, AZ, traveling, reading, and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. She was always the Life of every Party. When she was younger, she loved to Square Dance, Jitterbug, wore hotpants, smoked, loved coffee and cocktails! Edna was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her, and would always share her wisdom on humanity by saying things like, "Times Change but Morals shouldn't", "Death is as much a Part of Life as Birth and We should Cry when a Baby is Born and Rejoice when someone passes." "GOD will never give you more than you can handle." Edna worked as an Auditor at Sears in Lima and a Bookkeeper at Bradley Investments in Phoenix, AZ.
She is survived by her daughters; Liz (Sonny) Mullins of Celina, Melissa (Joe) Desuk of Tomball, TX. Grandchildren; Mitch Mullins, Shane Mullins, Kirk (Vicki) Mullins, Nikki Mullins, Skylar Desuk, Katelyn Desuk. Great Grandchildren; Kailyn Brewer, Brayden Mullins, Nathan Mullins, Gage Mullins, Ian Mullins, Mckayla Mullins, Tobey Mullins, Taylor Mullins, Aubree Mullins, Brooklyn Johnson, Stephen Abbey, Jordan Abbey, Marissa Abbey, Jaden Abbey, and Piper Depweg.
In addition to her parents, first husband Charles Stauffer, second husband, Fritz Thornton, she is preceded in death by her daughters; Carolyn Stauffer, Melinda Stauffer, siblings Ralph (Jesse) Neeper, Paul (Doris) Neeper, Harold (Marie) Neeper, Jack (Betty) Neeper, Bert (Warren) Wright, Evelyn "Bunny" (Ron) Bowman, and Bill (Ruth) Neeper.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home, on with Rev. Matt Overman officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for family and friends at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in loving memory of her Brothers who served in WWII.
