* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Alvin Hoying
Alvin J. Hoying age 89 of New Bremen died at 3:48 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home.
He was born on February 17, 1928 in St. Patrick, Ohio to the late William & Regina (Bernard) Hoying. He married Joan Wilkens on July 12, 1952 in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She survives in New Bremen.
He is also survived by children: Teresa "Terri" Hoying, Columbus, Tony & Amy Amato, St. Charles, MO, Ted & Molly Hoying, Columbus: grandchildren: Joanne, Eddie, Brittany, Bradley, Gina, Alayna, Ted Jr., Haley & Kate, brothers & sisters Veronica Presas, Fort Loramie, Margie Thieman, Kettering, Susan & Les Prenger, Minster, sister-in-laws; Betty Hoying, Dayton, Patricia & Rolland Griner, Fort Loramie & Bonnie Hoying, West Carrollton.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence "C.J.", and Cyril "Cy", sisters: Rosemary Soalman and Catherine Abele, brothers-in-law Roman Soalman, Paul Perin, Art Presas and James Abele.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen, where he was a lector and took Communion to the sick. He was a member of the Minster K of C and was a former recording secretary. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1950-1952 and a member of New Bremen American Legion.
He was a teacher at New Bremen High School where he taught Vocational Agriculture for 35 years. He retired in 1985 and after retirement he worked at Auglaize Industries.
He loved woodworking and making gifts for his family and he also had a special gift of writing stories for his grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Minster, with Rev. Tim Ralston & Rev. Glenn O'Conner con-celebrants. Burial will take place with full military honors at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Friends may call at The Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 3 PM until 7 PM Monday, May 22 and from 9 to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23.
