NEW BREMEN - School board members on Wednesday evening approved a resolution to place a levy on the May 2 ballot.
The purpose of the levy is to construct a new K-8 building adjacent to the current high school complex. Bonds are to be issued and sold to finance the $14.36 million project. The state will cover $5.2 million of that cost, officials have said. [More]

CELINA - A Dayton man reportedly involved in the 2015 burglary of TJ's Grocerette in Rockford and a string of other burglaries around the state was sentenced to three years of community control sanctions.
Kenneth Longstreath, 41, was sentenced Wednesday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court for five fifth-degree felony counts of breaking and entering. He also was ordered to pay about $9,200 in restitution to Murphy U.S.A. in Bellefontaine for goods stolen, assigned counsel fees and court costs. [More]
