* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Freda Kuck
Freda Fern Kuck, 92, formerly of New Knoxville, OH died 8:26 a.m. Saturday August 27, 2016 at Vancrest Nursing Home in St. Marys, OH.
She was born October 29, 1932 in Xenia, OH to Francis "Frank" and Mildred (Borton) Pohlable. On July 25, 1953 in Lima, OH she married the love of her life, John H. Kuck, who died December 5, 1993.
Survivors include: son Gerald (Joann) Kuck of New Knoxville, OH; daughter Kathy Wehmeyer of Anna, OH; daughter Lou Anne (Jon) Jarrells of New Knoxville, OH; 3 grandsons: Scott Jarrells, Mark (Amanda) Jarrells, Robert (Katrina) Jarrells; 2 great-grandchildren: Shienne Posada and Rilee Jarrells; sister Betty Prosser of Lima, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Frank and Mildred Pohlable; husband John Kuck; sister Mary Lou Sterling; brother Wilfred Pohlable; brother Nicholas Pohlable.
She was a 1942 graduate of Lima Central High School. She retired as a librarian from the New Knoxville Branch of the Auglaize Co. Library. She had previously worked as a librarian for South High School in Lima, and for R.G. Dunn Cigar Factory during World War II.
She was a member of First Church of New Knoxville, where she taught Sunday School for many years. While raising her family, she served as a den mother/advisor for the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Her favorite pastimes included reading, polka dancing and solving word puzzles. The Kuck family enjoyed many camping trips. Freda liked to roller skate, and later learned ballroom dancing. She particularly enjoyed owning Shetland Sheep dogs, having owned two and raised four litters of their pups.
Freda will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved to make people happy.
Rites are scheduled to begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 1, 2016 at the First Church of New Knoxville. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville, OH.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to either Friends of the New Knoxville Library or New Knoxville Historical Society.
