Addis Katterheinrich
Addis L. Katterheinrich, 85, of New Knoxville, OH died 3:10 p.m. Sunday July 17, 2016 at his residence.
He was born March 25, 1931 in New Knoxville, OH to Ernst H. and Leona Frances (Wierwille) Katterheinrich. On July 10, 1950 in Decatur, IN he married Mary Ramga, who survives. They recently celebrated 66 years of marital bliss.
Also survived by: son Tom (Marna) Katterheinrich of New Knoxville, OH; son Bill (Lynda) Katterheinrich of New Knoxville, OH; daughter Linda Myers of New Knoxville, OH; daughter-in-law Ruth Katterheinrich of New Knoxville, OH; 4 grandchildren: Rachel Katterheinrich, Susan (Matthew) Burke, Alsia Katterheinrich, Laura Katterheinrich.
Preceded in death by: parents Ernst and Leona Frances Katterheinrich; son Paul Katterheinrich; son David Katterheinrich; brother Fred Katterheinrich.
He was a graduate of New Knoxville High School (Class of 1949). He was a retired machinist for the Minster Machine Co. in Minster, OH, after 42 years of service. Addis served as a councilman for the Village of New Knoxville for two terms.
His memberships included First Church of New Knoxville, St. Marys Boat Club and Ohio Wheelman, Tri-State Gas Engine & Tractor Assoc., Antique Outboard Motor Club of America, and was a life member of the New Knoxville Historical Society.
Addis had a variety of hobbies including sailing, automobiles, and riding antique bicycles. He also had a keen interest in animals.
Rites are scheduled to begin 11:00 a.m. Friday July 22, 2016 at First Church of New Knoxville, with the Rev. Joel Bucklin, officiating. Private family burial rites will take place at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in New Knoxville.
Visitation one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Church of New Knoxville Radio Broadcast Fund.
