Kathleen Noble
Kathleen Kuck (Kay) Noble died April 18th, 2016, at Otterbein Retirement Home. She was 95.
She was born on December 13th, 1920 the daughter of Rinehart W. Kuck and Erma Kuenning Kuck. On August 24th, 1943 she married Edward S. Noble who predeceased her.
She is also survived by two children, Kraig E. Noble (Chris) of St. Marys and Susan Noble Davis (Dr. Daniel) of Georgetown, South Carolina. Also surviving are five grandsons, Major Jeffrey Winters Noble (Tina), Andrew Noble Davis (Amanda), Nathan Thomas Davis (Erinn), Dr. Daniel Edward Davis (Dr. Lindsey) and Jonathan Edward Noble and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several close nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her were her parents and her brother, Eugene Kuck.
Kay's heritage in Auglaize County ran deep as her father's ancestors were the first settlers of New Knoxville and her mother's family settled in New Bremen in the 1830's.
She graduated from New Bremen High School in 1938 and from The Ohio State University (BS in Home Economics) in 1942. She was the first in her family to graduate from college. During World War II, while her husband was stationed at Wright Field in Dayton, she taught school in New Bremen.
Kay Noble was the consummate homemaker and helpmate for her husband. She practiced the domestic arts of sewing, knitting and needlepoint. She loved to cook and will always be remembered for her special Christmas cookies. She was an accomplished pianist.
She was a lifelong member and past president of the St. Marys Shakespeare Club. She was also a member of the Drama Club. She served her community for many years as a Board Member of the Western Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross and also served as a poll worker and precinct captain.
She loved to travel and visited all fifty states. She treasured a world map depicting her travels around the globe and especially enjoyed her visit to the Taj Mahal.
A lifelong member of the Wayne Street United Methodist Church she taught a Sunday school class for over twenty years.
Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Marys Community Foundation for the Noble Family Fund which has been designated to benefit all of the organizations Ed and Kay supported during their lives.
A memorial service will be held at Otterbein on Saturday April 23rd at 2:00 PM. A joint interment in Elmgrove Cemetery will take place later this year.
Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, is entrusted with Mrs. Noble's arrangements.
