Charles Jackson
Charles W. Jackson, 73, Miamisburg and formerly of Franklin and Carlisle, entered into eternal rest Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, 2014, after spending his last days surrounded by his family.
He was born June 26, 1941, in Hudson, Mich., to Kenneth and Mildred Jackson. In 2000, he married Deanna Jackson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Greg (Pepper) Jackson, Columbus; a granddaughter, Piper Jackson; four siblings, Ann (Charles) Froning, Coldwater, Donald (Carol) Jackson, Xenia, Barbara (John) Klein, Wilton, Conn., and Margaret Watterworth, Toledo; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
After moving from Delta and Coldwater to Norwalk, he attended St. Paul's Catholic High School. He then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Known as "Bill" to his family and "Charlie" to his friends, he was employed at various car dealerships throughout the area. He and his wife moved to North Port, Fla., for a time before making their home in Miamisburg.
He was a former board member of the Carlisle Baseball Association and scoreboard operator for the Carlisle Pee Wee Football Association. He organized Carlisle and Franklin nights at the Cincinnati Reds games and was a member of Franklin Amvets Post 120.
He was an avid sports fan, a passion that he passed on to his son. He kept up on the Friday night Franklin scores and, until recently, every year attended the state high school football championship games in Canton and Massillon with his son.
In March 2014, he welcomed his only grandchild, Piper, into the world and felt blessed to have her in his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and his family mourns his passing and loss from their lives.
