Betty Wellman
Betty Jane Wellman, 92, Celina, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 8, 2013, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Van Wert, to Orley and Jennie Baker Putman. On June 30, 1946, she married William E. Wellman, who died in 1959.
Surviving are her son, William "Bill" (Marcy) Wellman, Celina; four grandchildren, Eric Wellman, Mansfield, Amy (Craig) Broering, Celina, Jenny (Brian) McCrory, Holland, and Staci (Eric) Langenkamp, Wapakoneta; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Joan Schlatter, Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Wellman; her sister and brothers-in-law, Becky and James Agler and Fred Schlatter.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina. She was an avid Celina fan and attended all Celina sporting events. She was an honorary member of the C-Man Club at Celina High School. She worked in the Celina school cafeteria for 25 years and retired as cafeteria manager in May 1984.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina, the Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina or the Edgewater Wing at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
