Albert J. Schulze
Albert J. Schulze, 84, Russia, died Oct. 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Fort Loramie, to Robert and Helen Schlater Schulze. On Dec. 2, 1950, he married Mary Lou Goubeaux, who survives.
Also surviving are five children, Debby (Joe) Timmerman, Russia, Gary (Sue) Schulze, Russia, Kathy (Charlie) Otte, Maria Stein, David (Marlene) Schulze, Uniopolis, and Jane (Ted) Bornhorst, Fort Loramie; four siblings, Ralph (Rita) Schulze, Russia, Norma Middendorf, Fort Loramie, Luella (Ronald) Albers, Fort Loramie, and Dianne (Earl) Winner, Minster; nine brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Frantz, Versailles, Gene Baltes, Tiffin, Lowell Goubeaux, Highland, Ind., Cecil (Virginia) Goubeaux, Sidney, Marvin (Barbara) Goubeaux, Versailles, Dale (Joan) Goubeaux, Tallmadge, Betty Schulze, Versailles, Virginia Goubeaux, Versailles, and Carolyn Enneking, Minster; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are eight siblings, seven brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Fort Loramie High School. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman in the South Pacific. He played baseball in the Western Ohio League and for the Radford Rockets of the Virginia Blue Ridge League in 1948. He worked as a farmer and a Pioneer Seed dealer. He also sold generators and worked at NCR in Dayton. He was a member of the St. Remy Catholic Church in Russia, where he taught CCD. He was also a member of the Shelby County Right to Life and the church's War Veteran's Post #661.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the CWV Honor Guard will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:45 a.m. Friday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choosing.
