Louise Lytle
Louise Dietrich Lytle, 91, died Nov. 24, 2009, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion, Ind.
She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Cattaraugus, N.Y., to Samuel George and Eva Washbon Dietrich. On Aug. 8, 1941, she married Robert N. Lytle, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Wesley (Rebecca), Celina, and Bernard (Kathy), Big Flats, N.Y.; a daughter, Jule (Kerry) Kind, Noblesville, Ind., a sister, Melva Freeborn, Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant son, Bruce Wayne Lytle.
She was a pastor's wife for four years in Fillmore, N.Y. before going to Colombia, South America, to serve the Wesleyan Methodist Church as a missionary with her husband for fourteen years. In 1959, she began working at the Wesleyan Headquarters in Marion. She later taught second grade for 14 years at Liberty School in the Madison-Grand Corporation. After retirement, she and her husband lived in Brooksville, Fla. until October, 2004, when they established their home in the Colonial Oaks Retirement Center. She graduated from Cattaraugus High School as valedictorian of her 1937 class, and entered Houghton College where she graduated in 1941. She completed her Master's degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at College Wesleyan Church, Marion, the Revs. Jay and Steve DeNeff officiating. Burial is at a later date in Houghton, N.Y.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the North Chapel of the Needham-Story-Wampner Funeral Home, Marion.
