Irene May
Irene E. May, 95, 6265 North 700 East Bryant, Ind., died at 9:10 p.m. May 31, 2009, in Hospice of Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born in Bryant, Ind., Dec. 9, 1913, to Stephen and Mary Hierholzer Hartnagel. On April 5, 1932, she married Ferd G. May, who died Aug. 4, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mildred Mendenhall, Coldwater; and a sister-in-law, Leona Hartnagel, Dayton; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Christian Mother's Sodality and Rosary Altar Sodality, Coldwater.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, Ind.
