* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Elmer Otting
Elmer J. Otting, 89, 75 S. Jefferson St., Minster, died at 6:15 a.m. Aug. 8, 2008 at Heritage Manor, Minster.
He was born Oct. 8, 1918 in McCartyville to Julius and Catherine (Volbert) Otting. On May 25, 1946, he married Dorothy Mohrman, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Bob (Diane), Maria Stein; three daughters, Mary (Raymond) Heslin, Charles Town, W. Va., Martha (Melvin) Steinbrunner, Celina; and Cindy (Mike) Haines, Piqua; a sister-in-law, Pauline, Kettlersville; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Aloysius and an infant brother Tony; a sister, Pauline; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
He was retired from Stolle Corp., Sidney. He was a member of St. Augustine Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion, both in Minster.
Funeral mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at church cemetery, with full military honors at graveside by the Minster Firing Squad.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
