The Celina Lake Festival Committee members got more than they bargained for, as Celina city council members this week approved donating $3,000 to the festival.
The festival committee originally asked council for $1,000 to help finance the firework show as sponsor funding is lower this year. The city's personnel and finance committee discussed that request at a June 30 meeting. [More]

ST. MARYS - On a snowy evening in January, Sue Zink got a call that a stray cat was lingering around a local retirement community. No better person to take on the round-up task than Zink who runs Sue's Animal Rescue Team (SART).
Maybe St. Marys just wants to play as many baseball games as possible.
It worked in the sectional, where the Roughriders lost their first game, then ran the table for a sectional title.
