Roy Clayton
Roy Andrew "Andy" Clayton, 65, of Spencerville, and formerly of Earle, Ark., died at 3:25 a.m. Jan. 6, 2008, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Earle to Clyde and Nellie Andrews Clayton, who are deceased. On Sept. 16, 1963, he married Tessie Mae Lumpkins, who died Feb. 20, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Herman Evans, McClure, and Anthony W. "Tony" Clayton, Celina; a daughter, Wendy (Brandon) Basinger, Spencerville; two brothers, Howard (Lee), Lima, and Herman, Spencerville; three sisters, Louise Linely, Earle, Ruth (Donald) Burk, Cridersville, and Donna (Larry) Linn, McGee, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Helen, Cleveland, N.Y., and Carrie Steinke, Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are three brothers, Woodrow, James and Troy; and a sister, Mary Resor.
He retired as a die-cast foreman at Ohio Decorative Products, Spencerville, after 32 years of service. He and his wife created and sold ceramics and refinished antiques.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Steve Coburn officiating. Burial is at Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
