Donald Knous
Donald L. Knous, 84, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:47 a.m. Nov. 26, 2006, in the emergency room of St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
He was born Sept. 8, 1922, in St. Marys, to Clifford and Stella Gallimore Knous. On Oct. 25, 1941, he married Alvina Comer Knous, who died April 4, 1998.
Survivors are a daughter, Marjorie (Butch) Felver, St. Marys; six brothers, Jim (Jackie), Celina, Lloyd (Pat), Decatur, Ind., Bud, Simon (Myrtle), Paul (Pat) and Charlie (Carol), all of St. Marys; five sisters, Evelyn Sorenson, of California, Louise Long, Indianapolis, Ind., Joyce Schere, New Carlisle, Inez Jacobs and Julia (Pete) Huff, all of St. Marys; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are two daughters, who died in childhood, Delores and Suzanna, and a brother, Wesley.
He retired after 40 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, St. Marys. He was a 1940 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of the former Gospel Mission Church, St. Marys.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Don Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
