The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued an Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio, through midnight EDT tonight.
Smoke from Canadian wildfires will adversely impact air quality. The Agency expects the Air Quality Index to be in the 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' range.

Gloria Vann
Gloria Jean Vann, 87, formerly of Rockford, Ohio passed away Monday morning, February 23, 2026, at Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, Ohio.
She was born December 5, 1938 in Rockford, Ohio and she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Dawson) Emerson.
Gloria was a graduate of Rockford High School. On June 8, 1962 she married Fred B. Vann, who preceded her in death on June 30, 2021. Gloria retired from the Huffy's Bicycle plant where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of New Horizons Community Church. Gloria enjoyed reading and going to the movies. She also truly enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Pamela (Rob) Wells of Columbus, Ohio, Donna Huston of Celina, Ohio, and Cheryl (Steve) Hambley of Brunswick, Ohio; two sisters, Helen (Stan) Baker and Suzanne Emerson; fourteen grandchildren; thirty seven great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by two sons and daughters in law, Eugene (Sharon) Vann and Michael (Darlene) Vann; son in law, Carey Huston; two brothers, James Emerson and Michael Emerson; and two sisters, Betty Houser and Mary Lehman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, at New Horizons Community Church, 833 South Main Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882 with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3133 US Route 33, Rockford, Ohio.
The family will receive visitors prior to the funeral service, Saturday morning February 28, 2026 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, at New Horizons Community Church.
Memorial contributions given in Gloria's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, or to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, P. O. Box 624, Celina, Ohio 45822.
