Alvina DeMange
Alvina A. DeMange, 96, of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 9:35 p.m. at her residence.
She was born in Maria Stein, Ohio on July 28, 1929 to the late Leo and Frances (Tuente) Walterbusch. She attended Maria Stein School. Alvina married Earl F. DeMange on May 6, 1950 in Maria Stein, he preceded her in death on January 12, 2006.
Survivors include son, David (Linda) DeMange of Piqua; daughter, Barbara (Larry) Coffing of Piqua; seven grandchildren, Diane (Doug) Amlin, Denise Aselage, Daniel (Tina Lobmiller) DeMange, Douglas (Tara) DeMange, Debra (Thomas) Pistone, Jonathan (Rachel) Coffing, Stephanie (Justin) Loesch; eleven great grandchildren, Mark Amlin, Rachel Amlin, Brooke Aselage, Ashley Aselage, Emily Aselage, Jack DeMange, Kathryn DeMange, Addison Pistone, Cole Pistone, Elliot Coffing, Oliver Loesch; sister, Esther Kuess and sister-in-laws, Betty Walterbusch, Mary DeMange and Phyllis Link.
Alvina was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert Walterbusch and Ivo Walterbusch, sisters and brothers-in-law Delores Walterbush, Lavern Kuess, Paul and Helen DeMange, Marie and Ed Vagedes, Francis and Betty DeMange, Rose Mary and Herbert Tobe, Ruth and Otto Tobe, Homer and Alice DeMange, Robert DeMange, Elmer Link and Betty DeMange.
Alvina was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she volunteered in numerous ways. She and her husband Earl were past members of the Piqua Western Square Dance Club for over 34 years. Alvina helped clean the 36 Skate Club until she reached the age of 92. She was also a talented seamstress, her sewing included draperies, clothing and quilts. She enjoyed attending and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all their activities. Sitting on her front porch with her neighbor brought her much enjoyment, as well as praying the rosary with a friend. Alvina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 with location to be announced in the coming days, with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
