Jesse Stocksdale
Jesse Eli Stocksdale, age 84, of Union City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Born on January 23, 1941, in Jackson Township, Ohio, Jesse was the son of the late Glen and Ethel (Barnhart) Stocksdale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 53 years, whom he married on December 26, 1965, Connie (Kelner) Stocksdale; and his siblings, Eleanor (Jim) Wilson, Don (Pat) Stocksdale, and Vaughn Stocksdale.
Jesse is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, who were the pride and joy of his life: Anne Marie (David) Anderson; Julie (Dusty) Rose; and Jennifer (David) Detling. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jessica Anderson, Katelyn (Vincent) Guagenti, and Jordan (Keeley) Anderson; Wyatt, Demi, and Fletcher Rose; and Lauren and Leah Detling; great grandchildren, Braxton, Bella, Ellie, and Adelyn. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Eugene (Jo Anne) Stocksdale.
Jesse graduated from The Ohio State University with his associate's degree and was a faithful member of Ansonia First Church of God.
Jesse spent 57 years devoted to farming, operating as Wayne Trail Farms, working with pride as both a grain and dairy farmer. Farming was more than a profession to him; it was a calling, a lifelong source of purpose, and something he approached with great pride and dedication. He was also a committed member of the Farm Bureau.
Jesse will be remembered for his steady strength, his gentle spirit, and the deep love he had for his wife, family and his farm. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the fields he tended, and the generations who carry his memory forward.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ansonia First Church of God.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville and again on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Ansonia First Church of God.
