* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Joan VonderHaar
Joan (Hoyng) VonderHaar, age 89 of Celina, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at her home in Celina. She was born on April 27, 1936, in Coldwater to the late Ernest & Helen (Losche) Hoyng. On October 25, 1958, she married Robert 'Bob' VonderHaar and he preceded her on March 25, 2022. They had three children: Karen, Diane, and David.
She is survived by a daughter Karen (Mike) Kleinhenz of Coldwater; a son Dave (Julie) VonderHaar of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Stephen (Lindsey) Kleinhenz, Erin (Phil) Shealy, Gregory Kleinhenz, Will VonderHaar and Ava VonderHaar; great-grandchildren Olivia, Michael & Octavia Kleinhenz and Graham & Isaac Shealy; siblings and in-laws, Jan Hoyng and Joyce (Brian) Forschner all of Loveland.
She is preceded in death by daughter Diane, great-grandson Daniel Kleinhenz, siblings and in-laws, Tom (Betty Jo) Hoyng, Rev. William Hoyng C.P.P.S., Pat (John) Lies, and Mary Alice Hinger.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State University and a master's degree from Bowling Green State University. Joan dedicated her career to helping children, serving as a speech and hearing therapist in the Mercer County and Darke County school systems. She traveled extensively, was an avid reader, and enjoyed staying connected with family and friends, whether it was in person or digitally.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
