Anthony Cole
Anthony G. "Tony" Cole, 48, of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, as the result of a car accident in rural Mercer County.
Tony was born on December 9, 1977, in St. Marys, Ohio, to Darrell and Elizebeth (Cole) Roop. He was a 1997 graduate of Lima Senior High School and worked as a self-employed van driver, serving the Amish community.
Tony is survived by his father, Darrell Roop of Celina; his siblings, Levi Williams of Ashland, Oregon, Andrew (Rose) Cole of Celina, and Amy (Kirt) Harner of Venedocia, Ohio. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews-Andrew Jr., Michaela, Kaitlynn, Matthew, and Jewel-as well as two great-nieces, Evelyn and Rowena.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elizebeth "Becky" Roop, who passed away on July 13, 2020.
Tony was known for his love of history, particularly military history, and was an avid collector of firearms. He enjoyed reading, cherishing quiet moments at home, and spending quality time with family and friends. His warmth, sense of humor, and devotion to loved ones will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service and a celebration of Tony's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cole family.
