Liquor permit on Nov. ballot

ST. MARYS- St. Marys voters in the third ward will decide on a D-6 liquor permit for the Friends of the St. Marys Theater and Grand Opera House on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.

The opera house currently has a D-5h liquor permit, which only allows sales of beer, wine, mixed beverages and spirituous liquor Monday-Saturday. This new liquor permit would allow for the addition of Sunday sales.

The theater, built in 1895, has undergone a major renovation in recent years to reestablish it as a community hub for arts and entertainment. Current events held at the theatre include movie screenings and musical performances.
