* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Elwood Prueter
Elwood "Gib" Prueter, 96, of Botkins, Ohio, died 12:05 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his residence.
He was born February 10, 1928, in New Knoxville, the son of August and Bertha (Duhme) Prueter. He married Jean Hurlburt on June 11, 1950, in Ada, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2017.
He is survived by his children: Ted (Pam) Prueter of Ada; Mike (Joanie) Prueter of Botkins; Lynda Prueter of Botkins.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; by his sister, Nancy (Wayne) Bambauer of New Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his son, Steve Prueter; his siblings: Earl Prueter; Naomi Howe; Paul Prueter; Jim Prueter; Irma Hoelscher; Don Prueter; Ruby May Prueter.
Gib was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was the owner of Don's Body Shop in Kettlersville for many years, and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the First Church of New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at the First Church of New Knoxville, the Rev. Joel Bucklin, officiant. Burial with military honors will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. on Monday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to the Blue Jug at the church to support missions work.
