Benjamin Ly
Benjamin Jing Long Ly, age 14 of Celina, passed away on May 21, 2024 at the Dayton Childrens Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on June 13, 2009 in St. Marys, the beloved son of Sokun and Sue Phinh "Peah" (Liv) Ly.
He is also survived by his brothers Brandon Ly, Bostyn Ly both of Celina; paternal grandparents Tong Ly of Liberty Township and Vann Ly of Celina; maternal grandparents Hour Liv and Sokha Huy of Celina; aunts and uncles Sam (Anne) Ly of Celina, Rina (Thouen) Huon of Liberty Township, Nak (Makara) Ly of Celina, Synay (Chelsie) Ly of Celina, Connie Ly (Zac Hedge) of Mendon and all of his cousins.
Ben was a student at Celina High School, where he was an active participant in various sports and activities. He loved playing football and being on the wrestling team, enjoyed golfing with his dad and friends and cherished spending time with his family and friends. Ben also enjoyed working at the Bryson Memorial Swimming Pool during the summertime and attended Rock City Church in Celina.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Celina First Church of God, with Rev. Jason King officiating. Burial will follow in the Mercer Memory Garden Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Lehman Dzendzel Funeral Home and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church on Thursday. In honor of Ben, all who attend are invited to dress casually or in Celina Bulldog attire.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Mercer County Civic Foundation Celina Athletic Scholarship, 119 W. Fulton St. Celina, OH 45822.
