Randy Dammeyer
Randy K. Dammeyer, age 66, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima on Thursday October 5, 2023.
He was born July 16, 1957, in Celina to the late Harold O. "HOD" and Martha Lou (Worthman) Dammeyer. On September 1, 1984, he married Karen (Kohler) Dammeyer and she survives at their residence in Celina.
Randy is also survived by his three children, Lauren (Kyle) Schott of Celina, Ohio, Gina (Ben) Butterfield of St. Charles, Missouri and Alex (Verena) Dammeyer of Vail, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Peyton, Lana, Declan, and Cora Schott and Elias, Josiah and Samuel Butterfield; four brothers, Scott Dammeyer of Xenia, Ohio, Todd (Beth) Dammeyer of Versailles, Ohio, Brent (Karen) Dammeyer of Dublin, Ohio and Jason (Adam Buttermore) Dammeyer of Houston, Texas; his mother-in-law, Pauline (Quinter) Kohler, Alexandria, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law Ann (Steve) Hoying, Minster, Ohio, Jan (Ray) Geraci, Allentown, New Jersey, Mike (Ruth) Kohler, Botkins, Ohio, Marie (Chris) Phillips, Alexandria, Ohio and Ellen Kohler, Huntsville, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his father-in-law Leon Kohler, sister-in-law Elaine Kohler, and brother-in-law Dan Kohler.
Randy was a 1975 graduate of Celina Senior High School and attended Wright State Lake Campus in Celina and Ohio State University in Columbus. He began his insurance career in 1978. In 2004, Randy joined Grinnell Re to establish a reinsurance presence in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The last few years of his career, he focused on leading marketing and business development efforts as the Grinnell Re Director of Marketing - Broker Assumed Reinsurance. Randy was an elder and lifetime member at Celina First Church of God. He loved many outdoor sportsman activities like enjoying God's creation from his tree stands and fishing excursions in Canada and Alaska. He prioritized quality time with his loved ones and travel with his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Celina First Church of God in Celina, with Pastor Craig Flack officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am prior to the services at the church. Graveside services will follow at North Grove Cemetery in Celina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to Celina First Church of God, designated to Camp Otyokwah, one of Randy's most treasured places on earth and where he grew in his faith.
