David Ayars
David B. Ayars age 84, of Celina, Ohio, slipped out of this world and walked into the arms of Jesus Thursday, August 3, 2023 from the Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing Home at Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on May 10, 1939 to the late Dr. Treston R. and Delia P. (Bryson) Ayars in St. Louis, MO. On Dec. 6, 1963 he married the love of his life Carmelina Martin they have been together for the last 60 years and she survives living in Celina. Also surviving are his children; Cheri (Steve) Brown of St. Louis, Mo, Don Ayars of Celina, Denise (Scott) Anderson of Celina, Sandra K. (Robert) Herr of Albuquerque, N.M., David B. (Angelina) Ayars Jr. of St Peters, MO. David adored and cherished his 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
David graduated from High School in 1957 and received an Associates Degree from the Washington University both in St. Louis, Missouri. He was formerly employed at Brog Warner and worked in the credit and finance department. He retired as a custodian from the Thomas Valley School District in Loveland, Ohio. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, South America and Europe.
He was a member of the Celina Church of the Nazarene. He taught Sunday School at the Church. He was a great supporter of the University of Connecticut Women's Basketball team and the Boston Celtics Basketball team. He also supported the Celina High School Girls Volleyball team.
A Private Memorial Service will be held on Aug. 12, 2023 at the Celina Church of the Nazarene to celebrate David's Life, with Rev. Chris Riffle officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Laurel Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Celina Church of the Nazarene at 900 Fairground Rd.
