* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Lowell Colwell
Lowell Colwell, 86, of St. Marys, was found deceased on Monday, April 3, 2023, at his residence.
He was born June 13, 1936, in Vicco, Kentucky, the son of Samuel and Parit (Caldwell) Colwell. He married Francine Martin on September 29, 1956, and she preceded him in death November 5, 2006.
He is survived by his daughters: Belinda (Eric) Stoner of Cincinnati; Teresa Colwell Rowen of St. Marys; Regina Colwell of St. Marys. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Samantha (Dylan) Richey; Naomi Stoner; Kristi (Austin) Thornsberry; Adeline Klabunde; Bruno Klabunde; Bryce Klabunde; Alaina Klabunde. He is survived by two great-grandchildren: Bryer Lowell Parrish and Ramsey Parrish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Lowell was a graduate of Vicco High School. He was a veteran of both the US Marine Corps, and the US Air Force. He retired from the US Air Force and the worked at Teleflex in Van Wert until his second retirement. He attended Samaria Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing, traveling and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a huge fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team, but not the coaching staff. He will be remembered for his many colorful Facebook posts and his advice for the coaches.
Funeral rites will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St. Marys.
Friends may call from 1:00-4:00 P.M. at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
