* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Shirleyann Gayer
Shirleyann E. Gayer, 87, of St. Marys, Ohio died 11:55 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born April 15. 1935 in St. Marys, OH to Clarence and Cordilla (Quellhorst) McDermitt. On April 24, 1954 in St. Marys, Ohio she married Verl Gayer, who died January 23, 2021.
She is survived by: daughter Diane Gayer of St. Marys, OH; son Drew (Paula) Gayer of Cridersville, OH; three grandchildren: Amanda Gayer, Brandon Shepherd, Kalie Gayer; six great-grandchildren; sister Sue Schnelle of St. Marys, OH; sister-in-law Mary Alice McDermitt of St. Marys, OH; brother-in-law Harold (Angie) Gayer of Riverside, CA; brother-in-law Lee Gayer of Braselton, GA.
Preceded in death by: parents Clarence and Cordilla McDermitt; husband Verl Gayer; brother Don McDermitt; Brother-in-law James Schnelle; brother-in-law Kenneth (Kay) Gayer; brother-in-law Bob (Mary) Gayer; sister-in-law Roberta Gayer.
She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1953). Shirley worked for The Evening Leader, where she began as a typesetter and eventually retired as advertising manager. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys. Following their retirement, she and Veryl moved to Gainesville, FL for many years, eventually returning to St. Marys in 2017. A talented seamstress, she made many of the clothes worn by her family. Her favorite pastimes included golfing and riding her bicycle.
Rites are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday November 5, 2022 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys. The Rev. Rhonda Hainer will officiate the services.
The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
