Robert Shope
Robert "Bob" Shope, 70, of Celina passed away at 11:50 am on March 17, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born on March 14, 1952, in Celina, the son of the late Edward D. Shope and Betty (Bauer) Shope. On October 07, 1978, he married the former Becky Jo Bollenbacher, who survives.
Bob was a 1970 graduate of Parkway High School. Bob worked as a fuel truck driver, last working for Belna Petroleum. Bob was a member of the Shanes Aerie number 1292 Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rockford, and was a life member of VFW Post 5713 in Celina. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hunting. He took pride in driving around his neighborhood to make sure everything was safe and as it should be, acting as a neighborhood watch. But most of all Bob loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, surviving are one son; Jason Shope of Peru, Indiana, one daughter; Ambi Moser of Decatur, Indiana, two sisters; Linda (Ron) Burris of St. Marys, Ohio, and Connie Altstaetter of Wapakoneta, Ohio, three sisters-in-law; Linda (Barney) Warthman of Willshire, Ohio, Beth Ann Bollenbacher of Rockford, Ohio, and Beverly Kuck of New Breman, Ohio, one brother-in-law; Bruce (Brandy) Bollenbacher of Rockford, Ohio, and three grandsons; Mason Moser, Konner Moser, and Slade Moser of Decatur, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother; Eddie Shope, one brother-in-law; Barry Bollenbacher; and a granddog, Bo.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 25, 2022 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street Rockford, OH 45882 with Pastor Steve Howell officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Country Church of Rockford Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday March 24, 2002, and 10:00 am - 11:00 am Friday March 25, 2022 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home 111 W. First Street Rockford, OH 45882.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be sent to the Leota Braun Charitable Foundation, Inc., P. O. Box 364, Rockford, Ohio 45882, or to St. Paul's Country Church of Rockford.
