A Sidney man was killed in a crash reported at 6:49 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of State Route 29 and Harris Road, according to a news release from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
Atsushi Tanaka, 26, reportedly was pronounced dead at the scene, after the car he was driving ended up in a pond. [More]

CELINA - St. Henry officials asked Mercer County commissioners to contribute an unspecified amount of federal COVID-19 relief money toward a proposed $2.35 project to develop and extend waterlines to a new wellfield south of the village.

WAPAKONETA - Auglaize County Health Department officials in a news release Thursday reported one new death and 188 new cases of COVID-19 in the county since their last report on Dec. 30, raising the county's cumulative death toll to 90 and cumulative number of cases to 5,895.
Communities and non-profit organizations in Mercer and Auglaize counties can apply for grants to install outdoor visitor information kiosks, according to a Greater Grand lake Region Visitors Center new release.
The Auglaize County Board of Elections Office will be closed Jan. 12-14 so staff can attend the Ohio Association of Elected Officials Conference.
