Ronald Hilgefort
Ronald L. Hilgefort passed away at the age of 79 on February 2, 2021 at 12:46 pm in Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born in Fort Loramie on November 25, 1941 to the late Frank Jr & Rita (Monnin) Hilgefort.
On April 28, 1962, Ronald married the love of his life, Betty (Tumbusch) Hilgefort who survives at their residence in Montezuma.
Ronald is survived by his family that meant the world to him; his wife of fifty-eight years, Betty Hilgefort of Montezuma; two daughters, Kathy (Paul) Forwerck of Celina and Karen (Brad) Cheeseman of St. Marys; siblings, Deborah (Ken) Woehmyer of Lebanon, and Kay Nederostek of Pennsylvania; sister-in-laws, Bertha Heitbrink, Betty Tumbusch, Olive Tumbusch, and Jan Hilgefort; grandchildren, Pastor Jason (Betsy) Springer, Amanda Springer, Heather Sutter, Cody (Brandi) Weber, Garrett (Michelle) Weber; step grandchildren, Matt (Chelsea) Cheeseman and Nick Cheeseman; and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ken Hilgefort and Terry Hilgefort; in-laws, Mary & Vic Hess, Mary & Ralph Tumbusch, Rita & Ott Homan, Harold Heitbrink, Wilfred Tumbusch and Eugene Tumbusch; and mother-in-law & father-in-law, William & Rose Tumbusch.
Ronald was a 1959 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. He retired as a truck driver for Aunt Millie's Bakery. He spent numerous hours with his buddies at the Academy of Model Aeronautics - Celina Flying Sportsmen. Family meant the world to Ronald; he loved spending time with his family and especially his great grandkids. His greatest love in his life is his wife Betty. He enjoyed camping, played music for various nursing homes, bluegrass & country western music and he was an all-around family guy.
A memorial service to celebrate Ronald's life will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 10:30 am in Cisco Funeral Homes, Celina.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 am-10:30 am at the funeral home before the memorial service.
Private burial service with Ronald's family will be held at a later date.
Attendees are required to follow social distancing and guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the national concerns of COVID-19. Masks are required by attendees at gathering and memorial service.
Memorial contributions can be made to charity of the donor's choice.
