Patricia Rice
Patricia Jean (Emans) Rice, 89, of Ossian, Indiana, formerly of Mendon and St. Marys, passed away at her home on December 5, 2020.
Pat was born November 30, 1931, in Mendon, to Harry S. and Luella (Selanders) Emans. On August 12, 1950, she married Homer H. Rice Jr., who preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.
Pat is survived by a son, Dennis (Ann) Rice of Celina, 3 daughters:
Kim (Terry) Bollenbacher of Ossian, Tama Lu (Rickey A.) Smith of
Berne, Indiana, and Connie Teeters of Geneva, Indiana, a brother, Stanley Emans of Mendon, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Pamela Kay Hahn, of Wapakoneta, 5 brothers & sisters: Raymond (Marjorie) Emans, Alfred (Marilyn) Emans, Helen Fern (Anton) Schlueter, Rhonda (Roger) Eitzman, and Lillian Cleo (Sylvester) Moorman, and a sister-in-law, Janet Emans.
A 1949 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, she worked at Reynolds & Reynolds, Goodyear and Huffy's. Pat had also owned a ceramic shop, and enjoyed oil painting.
Visitation Hours will be held at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Wednesday, December 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, with the Funeral Service immediately following at Noon. Pastor Randy Christian will officiate.
Burial will take place at a later date at Hamilton-Bethel Cemetery, near Mendon.
Those attending are required to wear masks, practice social distancing as much as possible, and follow the COVID-19 guidelines established by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.
