Scattered snow showers can be expected this morning along with westerly winds gusting to around 40 mph at times. Temperatures will continue to fall this morning, with readings dropping well below freezing.
Snow accumulations will be a half inch or less. This will result in some slick spots on untreated surfaces as well as bridges and overpasses. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination this morning. Be prepared for changing road conditions as well as gusty winds.

An arctic cold front will move quickly east across the region through daybreak. This will usher in a much colder airmass with temperatures quickly falling below freezing.
Snow showers can be expected this morning with snow accumulations of a half inch or less possible. This will combine with the falling temperatures to produce slick spots on untreated roadways. In addition, brisk west winds will gust to 25 to 35 mph at times this morning.
The morning commute will be affected by these conditions. Please allow for some extra time to reach your destination. Be prepared for slick spots, especially on bridges an overpasses.

Robert Laipply
Robert Laipply, 85, of Van Wert, passed away Wednesday evening, September 30, 2020, at Van Wert Health.
He was born on July 8, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur J. and Hilda (Jonke) Laipply. On June 23, 1961, he married the former Shirley Joanne Frane who preceded him in death on October 8, 2013.
Robert was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Thomas and a sister, Joanne.
Family survivors include his special friend, Lois Jones; three children, Julie (Mike) Garke of Burkettsville, Ohio, Bob Laipply of Spring Arbor, Michigan, and Steve Laipply of Cape Coral, Florida; and three grandchildren, Adam (Laurel) Laipply, Rebecca Laipply and Nathan Laipply.
Robert was a graduate of Assumption High School in Windsor, Ontario and served in the U.S. Army. He held several managerial positions at Aeroquip Corp. from 1959 to 1986. He was a member of St. Marys of the Assumption Catholic Church and Van Wert Elks Lodge #1197.
There will be private services at the convenience of the family.
Preferred memorials are to the Convoy Community Foundation or the donor's choice.
