David Henderson
David G. Henderson, age 73, of Celina passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on September 16, 1946 in Fonde, Kentucky to the late William R. and Marie P. (Barley) Henderson. On Aug. 25, 1979, he married Connie Davenport, who survives, living in Celina.
He is also survived by his: children Kurt A. (Cheryl) Henderson of Cherry Point, N.C., Sonya (Jeremy) Smith of Decatur, IN, Steven A. Henderson of Celina. Eight grandchildren, Kylie (Brandon Newland) Werling, ShyAnn (Kyle Longsworth) Henderson, Shannon (Hanna Welch) Lehman, Dakota Lehman, Faith Pittillo, Jessica Smith, Mitchell (Wendy) Henderson, Joshua Henderson, nine great grandchildren, Maddison Newland, Addilynn Newland, Jacelynn Newland, Emberlyn Longsworth, Arabella Longsworth, Kastiel Longsworth, Amelia Henderson, Shannon Lehman Jr., Zachary Henderson, one brother and sister-in-law, Stevie (Sherry) Henderson of Crossville, TN and four sisters and brothers-in-law Patsy McJunkin of Botkins, Shelia (Steve) Humbert of Celina, Diana Henderson of Palm Coast, Fl and Trish (Berry) Baucher of Celina.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brothers-in-law Winnie (Jerry) Coldwell, Gracie (Cletuis) Parker, Russel McJunkin, Betty (Henry) Rodrigues, Wilma (Richard) Ables and Mary (Bob) Perry.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army Special Forces. He retired from Setex in St. Marys as a Die-setter/welder. He was a member of the Victory Center Church of God in Wapakoneta and attended several Churches in the Celina Area.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial of David's remains will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020, in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Military Honors.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Attendees should observe social-distancing and wear a face mask, according to guidelines recommended by the Ohio Department of Health.
