* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

La Vern Salzmann
La Vern Leslie Salzmann, age 78 of Celina, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 at the Otterbein Retirement Community in St. Marys.
He was born on November 26, 1939 in Hoopole, Illinois to the late Leslie E. and Mabel H. (Meyer) Salzmann. On April 21, 1979 he married Arlene Hoenie, who survives in Celina.
He is also survived by his children; Laurie L. (Bradley) Miles of Otis Orchard, WA, Donald L. Salzmann of Otis Orchard, WA, Terri Miller of Dayton, Christa Miller of Celina, Matthew L. (Leah) Salzmann of Celina, Sara (Kyle) Schulte of Celina, eight grandchildren; Geena Miles, Ashley Miles, Tad Miller, Remy Salzmann, Brodee Schulte, Hunter Messner, Avery Messner, Lily Schulte, sisters and brother-in-law Janet Olson of Peoria, IL, Marilyn Beach of Houma, LA, Joy & Robert Hadley of Dekalb, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brothers-in-law Ruth (Les) Stockton, Jim Olson and Burt Beach.
La Vern graduated from Manlius High School with Class of 1957. He was a Telecommunications Contractor, working in construction his entire life.
He loved to spend time with his family and put something on the grill for an old fashion family cookout. Avid Sports enthusiast, a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed playing golf, tinkering with his cars, traveling and Dancing.
He was a member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina and sang in the Church Choir.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday Aug. 13, 2018 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Mick Whistler officiating.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Lake United Methodist Church 119 E. Fulton St. Celina, Ohio 45822.
