Paul Robinson
Paul W. Robinson, age 83, of Celina, passed away Tuesday morning, February 6, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System.
Born November 26, 1934 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Granville & Florence (Gillespie) Robinson.
Paul and Doris (Borger) were married on September 6, 1958, and she survives, along with seven children: James Robinson of Greenville, Linda (Tom) Pleiman of Lebanon, Karen Schmitt of Celina, Cindy (Kris) Hinton of Celina, Mike (Brenda) Robinson of Coldwater, Annette (Marty) Schmitt of St. Joe and Brian Robinson of Celina. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren (plus one on the way), a sister, Faye Outland of Zanesville, sisters-in-law: Rita (Glen) Wurster of Bonita Springs, FL and Marie (Robert) Gottes of Kettering, and a brother-in-law, Carl "Butch" Borger of Celina.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Robinson, who died July 31, 1981, a great granddaughter, Thea Schmitt, brothers: Lloyd (Patsy) Robinson and Herbert (JoAnn) Robinson, his father & mother-in-law: Clarence & Ludvina Borger, and brothers & sisters-in-law: Jane (John) Wurster, Paul (Irene) Borger and Sister Joann Borger, SFP.
Paul was a 1953 graduate of Adamsville High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Goodyear in St. Marys after 30 years of service. Paul was also a farmer, and had raised ostriches as well as a variety of other farm animals.
He was a member of American Legion Post #210 and Immaculate Conception Church in Celina. As a pastime, Paul made Mission Rosaries and Precious Blood Chaplets. He had formerly served as an Advisor for the Jefferson Jets 4-H Club.
Paul and Doris were members of the Tri-Squares Square Dance Club, and enjoyed traveling on bus trips to religious sites. A devoted family man, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, and teaching the grandkids to fish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 9, at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are 2-4 & 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, and 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Friday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Education Endowment Fund.
