CELINA - Mercer County residents are stepping up to receive their flu vaccine, with 1,048 administered in December, according to Mercer County Health District Director of Nursing Julia Shaffer.
Shaffer told health board members on Tuesday that only 636 flu shots had been given by district personnel from January through November last year. The total number for 2017 - 1,684 - was the same as in 2016. [More]
Celina defeats Bath for first victory of season

CELINA - Celina boys basketball coach Jay Imwalle couldn't ask for a better start from his Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
The finish was much sweeter.
The Bulldogs scored the first 13 points of the game and shook off every attempt by Bath to come back to give Celina its first win of the season in a 56-46 Western Buckeye League victory at the Fieldhouse. [More]

Parkway board authorizes measure
ROCKFORD - Parkway Local Schools employees will be able to administer epinephrine and asthma medications in emergencies.

CELINA - Celina Tent has finished a new 97,200-square-foot distribution center north of its facility on State Route 29 in Celina, a $3 million project that had been under construction since March.
ST. MARYS - Scoring the basketball was an issue for New Bremen in a loss to Fort Recovery last week.
It was a non-issue on Tuesday, though.
