Jeffrey Romer
Jeffrey A. Romer, age 61, of Harker Heights, died Friday, January 12, 2018.
He was born May 25, 1956, in Coldwater, Ohio, to Ruth (Bendele) Romer and the late Albert Romer. On June 6, 1981, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he married Sheri (Lee), who survives in Harker Heights.
He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Romer, of St. Henry, Ohio, three children, Sky (Jessica) Patton of Manhattan, Montana, Samantha (Brent) Watson of Hewitt, Texas, Tiffany (Ashley) Romer of Dallas, Texas, three grandchildren, Madison Patton of Manhattan, Montana, Matthew Randall of Hewitt, Texas, and Bethany Patton of Manhattan, Montana, siblings, Nancy (James) Schroeder of Dublin, Ohio, Jacqueline (Eric) Romer-Sensky of Westerville, Ohio, Douglas (Lisa) Romer of Westerville, Ohio, and Timothy Romer of Vandalia, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Romer, his father-in-law, Joe Lee, his mother-in-law, Betty Lee, his brother-in-law, Dwight Lee, and an infant brother.
He was a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who served in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 1978. He studied history at the University of Michigan and received his Master's Degree in 1987. He served in the Army for 21 years during which time he received numerous awards and medals. He was employed at time of death by the Department of Defense as Chief of Force Integration and Modernization for III Corps.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killeen, Texas. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas followed immediately by a group prayer.
Memorials may be made to Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch or the charity of your choice.
