* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Stanley Pontsler
Stanley Charles Pontsler, 89 of Ohio City, died at 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, Ohio.
He was born on December 14, 1927 in Mercer County, the son of the late Charles William Pontsler and Grace Helen (Sharp) Pontsler. On April 2, 1950, he married the former Marcella M. Stetler, who also survives in Rockford.
He was a mechanic at Lloyds Motor Sales in Rockford then retired from Aeroquip Corp. (Eaton) in 1989. He later worked for the Village of Ohio City and Liberty Township and was a volunteer with the Ohio City Fire Department. Stanley attended Ohio City Community Church of God and served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He was member of Harvey Lewis Post #346 of the American Legion.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio City Woodlawn Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post of Ohio City.
Calling hours are Monday 10 a.m. until time of service.
Preferred memorials are to the American Legion Post #346 of Ohio City or the Ohio City E.M.S.
