* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Hubert Allen
Hubert Lee Allen, 86, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at his home.
He was born on June 3, 1931, in Mendon, to Homer and Daisy (Wurster) Allen. On July 24, 1960, he married Carol (Fetters) Allen, who survives in Celina.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Nancy Allen, a daughter, Connie, and a granddaughter, Ashley, all of Celina.
Deceased are four brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley (Irene), Henry (Maxine), the Rev. Charles (Verna) and the Rev. Clayton (Betty) Allen.
Hubert lived his whole life in Mercer County, with most of it spent in Rockford. He was a mechanic for 15 years at Robbins Garage in Rockford. He was an employee for 30 years at Parkway Local Schools, where he worked as a custodian and drove a school bus.
He enjoyed watching Indiana University and Ohio State basketball and going to antique car shows. He took great pride in his home, logging many hours on his riding mower. In later years he enjoyed going for drives in the country with his wife, Carol, to whom he was married for almost 57 years. Most of all, Hubert enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Rockford, and after moving to Celina, Grand Lake United Methodist Church, Celina.
The family will receive family and friends 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with the service immediately following at the funeral home. The Rev. Matt Overman will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cheryl Ann Programs.
