* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Vernon Maurer
Vernon W. Maurer, age 89, died on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 7:15 P.M. at the St. Marys Living Center, St. Marys, Ohio.
He was born on October 9, 1927 near New Bremen the only child of the late Leonard J. and Madella M. (Elshoff) Maurer.
He is survived by several cousins, including Dave and Tina Maurer of New Bremen, and Dan & Jo Ellen Maurer of Billings, MT.
Vernon was a life-long member of St. Peter's Church in New Bremen. He attended New Bremen High School. He was a Private 1st Class in the Army during WWII. He worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber in St. Marys for many years, and was engaged in farming his whole life.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 241 of New Bremen, and enjoyed spending time at Main Street Station in New Knoxville, and made many trips traveling out West to see the mountains.
Funeral Services to honor his life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, with the Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. There will be one hour of calling prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Memorial contributions in memory of Vernon can be made to the St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
