Susan Schmit
Susan K. Schmit, age 69, of Celina, Ohio passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday Jan 7, 2017, at her residence in Celina with her family.
She was born on Feb 6, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to the late Ralph & Florence (Haunhorst) Shumaker. On Dec. 20, 1967, she married Dr. James Schmit, who lives in Celina.
Also surviving is her daughter & son-in-law Sara and Aaron Kriegel of Celina, grandson Mason Kriegel of Celina, and two sisters and brothers-in-law Joann & Richard Roth of Roscoe, IL and Lois & James Carder of Lima.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Christopher Schmit.
Susan graduated from St. John's High School in Delphos with the Class of 1965. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and the Altar Rosary Sodality. She was the office manager of her husband's business Dr. James Schmit Chiropractic Clinic in Celina.
Susan loved gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She was a very generous and compassionate person and her kind-hearted personality will never be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday January 11, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth G. Alt C.P.P.S. officiating. Private family burial will be on Wednesday in the St. John's Cemetery in Delphos, with Fr. Ryan Schmit conducting the committal service.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
The Schmit family requests, in Lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund, Grand Lake Hospice or the Mercer County Right to Life.
