Cy Schaadt
Cy A. Schaadt, 65, Berne, Ind., passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
He was born to Frederick "Fritz" and Mary Greulach Schaadt on April 24, 1950 in Adams County.
Cy was a member of the first graduating class at South Adams and later graduated from Purdue University with an engineering degree. He worked many years in the Texas and Middle East oil fields as a petroleum engineer and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Cy attended the St. George Episcopal Church and was an avid trap shooter, a ham operator, and enjoyed restoring cars.
Survivors include an aunt, Mary Catherine (Rex) Bollenbacher of Rockford, surrogate aunt and uncle, Marguerite and the late Glen Jones of Berne, and numerous cousins and friends.
Preceding in death are his parents.
Funeral services are Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to time of services at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Father Larry Smith. Burial is in the Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert Ohio.
Preferred memorials are to Mercer County Sportsman Association.
