Helen Bertke
Helen (Muller) Bertke, age 93 of Celina, Ohio passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 2, 2016 at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1922 in New Weston, Ohio to the late John & Charlotte (Buschur) Muller. On Oct. 14, 1961 she married Clarence Bertke, who died Oct. 5, 2003.
Survivors include her son Marvin Bertke of Celina and sister Rita Winner of New Bremen, sister-in-law Juneta Rose of Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her brother Leo Muller, sisters Adelaide Muller, Catherine Coder, Agnes Muller, brothers-in-law & sister-in-law Urban Winner, Carl & Ludwina Bertke, Dorothy & Herbert "Pete" Huber, Herman Rose, Wilma & Aloysius Bruns.
She was formerly employed at Buckeye Clothing and NCR in Dayton for 20 years. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and was active in the Ladies Sodality at the Church. Helen enjoyed cooking and sewing.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday Jan. 6, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Fr. Kenneth Schnipke C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2016 and from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the I.C. Endowment Fund.
