Virginia Boerger
Virginia C. "Ginny" (Buehler) Boerger age 94 of Minster, Ohio died at 6:15 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen.
She was born on December 1, 1920 in McCartyville, Ohio to the late Raymond W. & Dorothea C. (Meyer) Buehler. She married Clarence R. "Pete" Boerger on July 3, 1945, at Sacred Heart Church McCartyville. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1995.
She is survived by her children: Alan & Janet Boerger, Troy, OH, James & Diane Boerger, Westlake, OH, Marcia & David Gutridge, Long Boat Key, FL, Sheila & Jerold Barhorst, Russia, OH, Teresa & Mark Poeppelman, Springboro, Gerard "Jake" & Jill Boerger, Coppell, TX, Kenneth & Andrea Boerger, Maumee, OH and Pamela & Anthony Seger, Liberty Twp., OH. 16 grandchildren: Stephanie & Chris Coffield, Erika & Scott Daniel, Sarah & Brad Smith, Tricia Boerger & Debi Dorfsman, Kara & Angel Lozada, Todd & April Boerger, Libby & Stuart Carlton, Ryan Barhorst, Dana & Jamie Magoto, Drew Barhorst, Corri & James Hamilton, Allyson Poeppelman, Matt & Beth Poeppelman, Zach Boerger, Justin & Jill Seger, Emilee Seger, 2 step grandchildren, Jennifer & Adam Zochowksi, & Joyce & Luther Peters, 18 great grandchildren & 4 step great grandchildren, brother John L. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Keith Rarick, brothers, Raymond Buehler, Orville Buehler, Roman Buehler, Leo Buehler, in-laws Mary Buehler, Alma & Henry Feldman, Leo & Sally Boerger, Albert & Dorothy Wolf, Herb & Alma Boerger, Alfred & Louise Boerger, Catherine Boerger, Ralph & Eileen Boerger, Juliana & Russ Wagner, Roger Thieman, Robert & Caroline Boerger, Frank Boerger, Leo Francis and Martin Dabbelt.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was a lector. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Minster Post #387, Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Auglaize County Retired Teachers Association and Notre Dame Tabernacle Society. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Unit 211, Precious Blood Companions, Homebound Ministry, Minster Athletic Boosters, Minster Academic Boosters, Minster Historical Society, Wright State Alumni Association and past secretary Minster High School Scholarship Board.
She was a 1937 graduate of Minster High School, a 1975 graduate of Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a 1979 graduate of Wright State University with a Masters in Education. She was a teacher at Minster Local Schools.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will take place following the service at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, and from 9 to 9:30 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2015.
Memorial donations may be made to the Clarence & Virginia Boerger Family Scholarship Fund through the Minster High School Scholarship Fund.
