John Haslinger
John J. 'Jack' Haslinger, age 66, of St. Marys, Ohio passed away at 3:25 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio as a result of multiple myeloma.
He was born November 21, 1948 in Celina, Ohio, the son of the late Dolores (Hoyng) and Ivo Haslinger.
Jack is survived by his sister, Sue (Ted) Sollmann of Dayton, Ohio, brother Jim (Terry) Haslinger of Traverse City, Michigan and sister-in-law, Sandra Haslinger of Akron, Ohio. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Julie Kowal, Michelle Schwartz, Kim Haslinger Bauer, Missy Haslinger, Jennifer Haslinger Johnson, Doug Haslinger, Ben Haslinger and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ivo and Dolores and his brother, Dennis.
Jack was a graduate of Coldwater High School and Kent State University. His career included sales and management positions with several companies in Akron, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Jack retired in 2009 and returned to live at Southmoor Shores on his beloved Grand Lake. He was an ardent fan of the Coldwater Cavaliers football team and he loved nothing better than to pack his car with friends and attend a Cavalier game. The freckled kid from Coldwater, who made two last second foul shots to defeat Kenton and was famous for his Texas League singles, had a legion of friends. He was the convivial "maitre d' " for the last five years at the Harvest Table Saturday lunches at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, Ohio. Jack will always be remembered for his mile-wide smile and his devoted friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to the Harvest Table at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina, Ohio.
Condolences may be sent on-line to Jack's family at hogenkampfh.com.
